Submitting the Sitemaps of your blog to Google Webmaster helps the search engine(Google) to crawl your webpages easily and more quickly! This post explains the procedure to add your blogger blog’s sitemap to the Google Webmaster Tools.
- Sign-in to Google Webmaster Dashboard using your Google Account.
- Type your blog URL and click Add Site:
- Once your site is added to Google Webmaster, you need to verify the site by adding a Meta Tag to your blog:

- Copy the Meta Tag code given by Google Webmaster as shown in the screenshot below:

- Now go to Blogger Dashboard – Layout – Edit HTML – then search(Ctrl+F) for the code given below in the header section:
<b:include data="blog" name="all-head-content"/>
Then Paste the Meta Tag just after the above code and Save the Template.
- Now click Verify in the Google Webmaster Tools. Your site will be verified if you followed the above steps clearly:

- Next step is to add sitemaps of your blog. Select Sitemap from the left sidebar:

- You can add the following sitemaps of your blogger blog to the Google Webmaster:
http://www.YourBlog.com/atom.xml?redirect=false
http://www.YourBlog.com/feeds/posts/default?=rss

- Finished! Your Blog’s sitemap will be added to Google now!
Happy Blogging!

hi…… i signed up for webtools and i did every thing.
but whenever i try to see my page in google index pages it’s not there.
what should i do
@Rana
Usually Google index blogspot pages very quickly. My posts get indexed in just 2-5 minutes after publishing. If you have submitted the sitemap as I explained in this post, wait for one or two days to get the sitemap approved by the Google Webmaster. Hope you get it right soon.
Regards..
thanx ……….

Hey thanks I get solution my sitemap problem.
thanks i was searching for this information
Many thanks, Shafar.
My site had been verified earlier, I had not added the site map, yet.
I went through the process steps again, for the verification, just out of curiosity.
Mainly, as I do not recall having to copy and paste anything in the process.
Note: When I re – verified my site(Just to test it) I was given a prompt(On the left hand side) stating there are three options for verification. There were two non copy and paste options.
Thanks again, Daniel.
thanks man! its working!!!
Terima kasih banyak..
Perfect…
Terima kasih atas infonya..
Akan saya coba nanti… kkikii…
Thanks man great stuff.
Wonderful information. I will bookmark it for the future.
Hi!
I did that about a month ago and no I am having trouble with it.
About a week ago I posted for the 26th time in my blog and since then, the URLs submitted have not updated to the number of posts that I have now.
I resubmit the sitemaps, their status is “Success” but there is no update in that number. It stays in 26.
What should I do?
@Nacho
Try submitting this:
http://yoyepunto.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100
@John
Hi John, just add a slash (/) at the end of your meta tag (/>)
Thank you Shafar.
I did that. Let’s see how it works. I’ll let you know in a couple of days. I had 5 different sitemaps submitted and they all stayed in 26 urls submitted. I heard that that can happened due to Duplicate title and description tags. I am working on it now, and I am having less errors than before. Let’s see what happens when I remove all of those issues.
Thanks again!
Hi again!
I did that and it kinda worked for a few hours. The URLS submitted matched my posts and the URLS in web index were the same number.
After a couple of hours the number of URLS in web index went down to 0 and it has been like that ever since.
What’s wrong?
Thanks in avance!
@Nacho
I didn’t have any problem with sitemaps when this blog was on Blogger platform. I guess it’s time to report your problem on Google Webmaster Support Forum:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters?hl=en
You can get more help from here:
http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/
Actually, it is pretty weird. I resubmit the sitemaps often and sometimes the URLs in web index are 0 and sometimes are the same number of posts that I have.
I guess I have to report it there.
Thanks for your help!
Awesome guide for adding sitemap,Thanks for sharing…
great stuff, Thanks for your help!
This helped me a lot, everything is ok and it seems like im on the verge of getting indexed which is great! Many thanks!
thanks really is good explanation for me
thnks it really help me <3<3
Thanks! I got the green check mark. Now, I wait for the indexing.
Thank you so much for this one! Very useful for starters
thanks you i find it so useful
thank you so it really help me
Thanks for this tip, i use to operate on a blogspot domain and everything was working fine even when i didnt submit a sitemap, i mean my posts were indexed very fast but ever since i bought a domain http://www.trueinternetworld.com 8 days ago my recent posts aren’t appearing on google search and even the old ones aren’t gaining much explosure as it used to and my blogspot pagerank has reduced, blogging is getting boring for me, please what do you suggest i do?
@trueinternetworld
Don’t panic, search engines takes few days to change the URL of your old posts to the new ones. Check whether old blogspot.com posts are redirecting to the new custom domain posts. Don’t forget to change the address in Google Analytics.
Don’t leave blogging with silly reasons. I’m not active in blogging these days due to some other work, but never left blogging completely. Your blog is great, go on!
Hey this was really helpful to me, thanks.
Boss,
I have submitted the sitemap of my very young blog. It says index count pending. How long does it take to have my site index? Thank you.
@Green Tea
. If you have more posts, it takes few days.
It depends upon the blog size and the mood of Google
Thanks shafar, my blog seems to be getting indexed ontime now but my traffic isnt as good as it used to be when on the blogspot domain, my pagerank stil 0, and i used to have a PR2 on the blogspot domain, please how do i enjoy blogging like before wit more traffic from search engines and earnings?
@trueinternetworld
If your old homepage and blogspot posts are redirecting to the new one, then you’ll get at least the same pagerank after Google next pagerank updation. Traffic and earnings depend upon the consistency of posting and uniqueness of the posts! Have the patience, it takes little time to get your blog well settled.
Good Luck
Thanks boss for your kind replies. I do update my blog almost on a daily basis but no improvement in the traffic, instead it sometimes reduces and my blog’s redirecting to the new domain. I also noticed two days ago that my blogspot domain address was automatically removed from my google webmasters page leaving only the .com i.e http://www.trueinternetworld.com please does it mean any negative effect?
@trueinternetworld
I checked Google and found 270 links are already indexed from your new URL and some are yet to be indexed from the old blogspot. As I said, have some patience. It takes a while to get your pagerank and traffic back. You can resubmit the new domain to Google Webmasters if the old one has been removed. For more help, refer their forums here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters?hl=en
Good Luck
Great tips, thanks so much!
This is nice but i just want to ask one Question: Feed URL contains on 27 so something like this, but if you can give me another code or tip which i use that i could submit more links from my site?
@YouTube World
Try this:
http://youtubworld.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100
thank you for the tutorial it’s really helpfull
thanks dude
for your precious help.
Thanks much, blogger is a monster (easy but difficult to optimize) you instructions help greatly.
thanks for your useful post.. now i’ll add sitemap to my blog above
thank you, this information is very useful for us all…
Thank you for this. My sitemap was submitted successfully.
One question, though: It says 26 URLs were submitted–I have more posts than that. Will have to resubmit the sitemap later or will I have to do more than one?
@Anji
Try this:
atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
Thanks, Shafar! Where exactly would I put that code? Do I just put that in the cell that asks for my sitemap url? Also, by putting max results=500, does that mean that it will map up to a maximum of 500 POSTS? Because each post has a different URL, right…??
@Anji
Yes, it maps up to 500 posts of your blog. Try submitting.
I have successfully done the sitemap for the 500 posts. But how do I do it with those more than 500 posts?
Pls help.
Thanks.
@Dexter
Replace “500″ with any number of your choice.
