Little Strokes Fell Great Oaks

Little Strokes Fell Great Oaks

Oaks are huge trees. Usually an axe is necessary to cut them down. Even with the axe, strong and continuous effort is needed. A knife will be useless and meager in place of an axe as the knife is very small. It will seem impossible to cut down the huge oak tree with a small knife. But even with the small knife it is possible to cut down the oak tree provided you have right temperament. With great patience, if you hack the oak little by little, soon you will be able to cut through the full tree. This will in turn bring down the tree.

Similarly we can achieve great things in life if we have enough patience and determination. Huge buildings are made up of little stones and a lot of labour. The Pyramids of ancient Egypt are examples of this. In those times when there was no mechanical equipment, those tall pyramids were built with the sheer power of labour and engineering skill. For building the Tajmahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it is said that a lot of people laboured incessantly for many years.

All these prove that with due patience and determination great things which may seem almost impossible at first glance can be achieved.
