We are all human beings. It is quite natural for us to commit mistakes. All of us must have committed some faults or other in our life. There is nobody who has not committed any mistake. But once we know that we have done something wrong, we should be ready to admit it.
Admitting or confessing a fault means that we are prepared to correct it. If we don’t care to admit a fault, it only means that we are not prepared or willing to correct it. Willingness to self-correction is made easier by admitting the fault. If we admit a fault, we have come a long way in correcting it. Without being able to admit a fault, it is impossible to correct it. So, the first step in correcting a fault is to confess it. Only broad-minded persons are able to confess the mistakes they have done.
People respect and appreciate those who are willing to admit their follies. People who daringly admit their fault take a long step in correcting those faults. This fact makes the proverb A Fault Confessed is Half Redressed true to a good extent.

Hi Shafar, I will admit that once you commit to telling your fault[s] there is a load lifted from you. And I know I do respect that person more when they do admit to their mistake or folly as you put it. Nice writing. JJ
